MCCOMB — Services for Dan L. Wells Jr., 84, of McComb, formerly of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at McComb Nursing and Rehab, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Adams United Methodist Church in McComb with the Rev. Johnny Bowlin officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Hartman Jones Funeral Home in McComb.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Wells was born April 7, 1937, in Amite County, the son of Dan L. Wells Sr. and Addie Reeves Wells.
He was an active member of Adams United Methodist Church and was a member of the Men’s Club. He loved bowling and participated in bowling leagues in Natchez and McComb.
Wells was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and retired from International Paper Company in Natchez after 46 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Hugh Wells; and two sisters, Laverne Nunnery and Norma Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Mae Joyce Little Wells; three daughters, Renee Wells Nicolo and husband, Mike, of Englewood, Tenn., Pam Wells Bourne and husband, Donnie, and Lisa Wells Anderson and husband, Greg, all of Hattiesburg; three sisters, Bernice Howell and Dot East of McComb, and Joy Laird of Smithdale; seven grandchildren, Daniel Nocolo and wife, Jessica, Michael Nicolo, Nicholas Nicolo, Rebecca Bourne, Madison Bourne, Katie Anderson and Abby Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Ryland Nicolo, Isla Blair Nicolo and Eden Nicolo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials in honor of Mr. Wells may be made to Adams United Methodist Church.
