MONTEREY — Services for Richard Glen Carter Sr., 68, of Monterey, who died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. today at Monterey Pentecostal Faith Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Glaspell officiating.
Burial will follow at Ellard Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Carter was born July 8, 1950, in Ferriday, the son of Luther E. Carter Sr. and Lolla Wiley Carter.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
Carter was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Ashely and Ben Carter Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Virgie Mae Dupuis Carter; two sons, Richard Carter Jr. and wife, Tammie Joe, of Vidalia, and Benjamin Ross; one daughter, Yolanda Carter and husband, Joseph; one brother, Lil’ Bud Carter and wife, Dorothy; two sisters, Shirley Ellard and husband, Charles, and Tiny Moreland and husband, Charles; one uncle, Sidney Wiley, all of Monterey; one aunt, Helen Carter of Start, La.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
