NATCHEZ — Services for Ruby Lee Woodley Jackson, 91, of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Baptist Church with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. today with a celebration of life service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Jackson was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Washington, the daughter of Thomas David Woodley and Katie Ruth Smith.
She was educated at St. Francis High School and was retired from Jefferson Davis Memorial Hospital. She was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess. Her hobbies included traveling, enjoying word-search puzzles and watching the “judge” shows.
Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Jackson Sr.; her parents; three sons, Arthur C. Jackson, Thomas Jackson and Leonard D. Jackson Sr.; one sister, Juanita Cade; one grandson, Leonard D. Jackson Jr.; two daughters-in-law, Roxie Jackson and Ida Jackson; and one son-in-law, Clarence Johnson.
Survivors include three sons, John H. Jackson Jr, Walter “Bubba” Jackson and wife, Della, and Dwayne Jackson; three daughters, Helen Faye Johnson, Shelia Hickingbottom and husband, Tyrone, and Larenza Jones and husband, Henry; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
