SICILY ISLAND — Despite a 48-26 loss last week to now-LSWA Class 1A No. 4 Oak Grove High School, which is now the No. 1 team in the LHSAA Class 1A power ratings, the Sicily Island High School Tigers actually moved up one spot to No. 16 in the 1A power ratings.

Sicily Island can clinch a home game in the first round of the Class 1A Playoffs with a win over the Tensas High School Panthers in an LHSAA District 2-1A game Friday at 7 p.m.

Sicily Island also has an opportunity to finish .500 for the regular season. The Tigers are 4-5 overall and 2-4 in district play. Tensas High also has something to play for even though the Panthers are 1-8 overall and 0-6 in district play. They are sitting at No. 28 in the 1A power ratings. A win would move them up higher while a lose will have them teetering on whether they get in the playoffs or not.
