FERRIDAY — Services for deacon Eddie Tolliver Jr., 93, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at his residence, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with Richart Jackson and Elias Kelly officiating.
Burial will follow beside his wife, Rosie, at the Natchez National Cemetery with military honors, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Tolliver was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Ferriday, the son of Eddie and Parfine Harden Tolliver.
He was a retired brick mason.
Tolliver served as senior deacon at Mount Beulah Baptist Church and was former president of the Ferriday Cemetery. After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Tolliver was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one son, Eddie Tolliver III.
Survivors include two children, Beverly Ann Kelly and husband, Elias, of Helotes, Texas, and Bruce Edward Tolliver Sr. and wife, Sherral, of Houston; one sister, Thelma White of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Tolliver of Phoenix; devoted caregiver, James Mayberry of Ferriday; special cousin, Richart Tolliver Jackson of Houston; goddaughter, Carolyn Williams of Georgia; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
