We’re back. …After having several meetings to decide for sure if the Cox Hill Haunted Trail Ride will ride on, we are proud to announce that it will.

It’s been a very good 20 somethings years for us, and we just couldn’t let it go just like that.

There will be some different things going on this year due to being short on help, funds, etc., but the haunt of it will still be the goal.

We have changed some things and added some things and also taken away some things. You will have to come find out on your own to see these changes.

Of course we still have our original Hollywood characters because what would Halloween be without Michael Myers, Freddy and Jason. 

As always this is still a benefit. That has always been the main focus for doing this trail ride and that will never change.

We also do our best to help people during the off-season of the trail ride. It’s just what we do.

This year, we have chosen a very special person to be the recipient of the Cox Hill Haunted Trail Ride benefit.

She has been a part of this thing since day one. She is the person behind the scenes, the one who gets all the sponsorship money needed to start the trail with.

She is very unselfish and goes above and beyond to help anyone in need regardless of the situation.

She has put together so many softball tournaments to help others who were going through sicknesses and needed some extra financial help. Most of these times she was sick herself but she knew this was her calling in life.

She is also a cancer survivor and still in remission with it. Ladies and Gentlemen, this year the Cox Hill Haunted Trail Ride proceeds will go to help benefit Cathy Cox Warren.

Cathy has been very sickly since November of last year and has been unable to work due to a work-related accident where she inhaled pool chemicals causing her lungs to be severely burned.

She will most likely not be able to return to work and is now dependent on an inhaler to help her breathe.

Although this has not gotten her spirits down, her ability to help others has been limited due to her sickness and that my friends is where her heart is. She has a servant’s heart and will always continue to be just that.

We are very proud to be able to help her this year because not only is she deserving of it, but it also shows how special she is to the community as well.

There’s nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer because volunteers with such a loving heart are rare.

This year’s event will take place Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27. Admission into the gates is $10 per person. There will be other vendors there with concessions and that cost is separate from the admission.

There will be some game booths set up for the kiddos while you wait your turn for the hayride,, and we will also have DJ Chris Robbins back this year.

Please keep in mind that this event is a benefit and lines are long. Our volunteers in the back are playing several different roles and it just takes time to get everyone back to their original formations so that the trailer can come through.

Also there is no alcohol allowed on the festival site. Security is provided and if you are caught drinking alcohol, you will be asked to leave with no refund. This is a family event and we ask for your respect and patience.
