FERRIDAY — Services for Jake Davis Sr., 88, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, were Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at Rising Sun Baptist Church in Ferriday.
Burial followed at Zion Hill Church Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Davis was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Ferriday, the son of Lawyer and Laura Edwards Davis.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator and served as an usher at Rising Sun Baptist Church.
Survivors include six children, Jake Davis Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Clayton, Jimmie Davis and wife, Norma Jean, of Dallas, Harry Davis and wife, Merea, of Jonesville, James Tademy and wife, Jina, of Fort Worth, Joan Davis Dacula, Ga., and Jannis Wells and husband, John, of Houston; one sister, Viola Green of Ferriday; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
