NATCHEZ — Miss the Famers Market?
Never fear, a Pop-Up Farmers Market will be open and selling non-seasonal goods 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the 300 block of S. Broadway St., under the shade trees along the riverfront across from the Parsonage, near Rosalie.
Famers market coordinator Eddie Burkes said the pop-up market is a continuation of the summer famers market for vendors who have year-round items to sell.
Burkes said on hand will be jams and jellies, baked goods, dairy goods, micro greens and other prepared foods.
Between eight and 10 vendors have been setting up at the event the past two weeks, Burkes said, and they plan to continue the effort on South Broadway Street every Saturday through August or until the Fall Famers Market opens back up on Commerce Street in either late September or October.
“We want to take a few people who are famers and make this a year-round place to continue to sell the products,” Burkes said, noting that the regular farmers markets have farmers with seasonal goods for the spring, summer and fall and that the regular farmers markets also have arts and crafts vendors.
