NATCHEZ — Services for Bennie Evert Buckles, Sr., 72, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug. 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dillon Wickliffe and Dr. Pat Larkin officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon Monday until service time at the church.

Mr. Buckles was born Oct. 9, 1945 in Natchez, the son of Levi Buckles and Lydia Buckles.

He was employed at Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. prior to being employed as a Saw Filer at JM Jones Lumber Co. He was very devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. He also loved to hunt and fish, work with wood making cabinets and building homes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Aubrey, Donald and Earl Buckles; father-in-law Bill Larkin; and mother-in-law Clem Larkin.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara; one son Bennie “Ben” Buckles Jr. and wife Donna of Natchez; one daughter Tracy Greene and husband, Jody, of Monterey; grandchildren, Megan Emanuel and husband, Cory, Tyler Buckles, Gentry McDonald, Avery Greene and McKenna Greene. He is also survived by one brother J.B. Buckles; three sisters, Eula Lee Allen, Alice Fairbanks and Doris Tarver and husband, Sonny Tarver; and brother-in-law, Bill Larkin and wife Mary Katherine.
