Sullivan named in Top 50 business women listing

JACKSON — A representative of the Mississippi Department of Transportation has been named by the Mississippi Business Journal as one of the 50 Leading Business Women of Mississippi for 2009.
Special Projects Coordinator Janet Sullivan of Natchez was nominated for the honor by New Hebron Mayor Cindy Bryan, and she was also endorsed by Keep Mississippi Beautiful Executive Director Barbara Dorr and state Rep. Angela Cockerham.
She has served as chairman of the El Camino Five-State East-West Corridor Commission since 2004. She is a board member of Keep Mississippi Beautiful and was the 1996 recipient of the Athena Award, bestowed by the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce.
She has been a member of the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and/or Executive Board since 1997, serving on the Economic Development Committee. Sullivan is the past chairman of the Natchez Garden Club Preservation of Ellicott Hill Committee and chairman of the annual fundraising event from the preservation committee.
