natchez — On Saturday, Aug. 15, Historic Jefferson College willl host EXPLORE! Rocks & Minerals program.

Participants will find out how rocks are made, learn to identify them and determine some of their special characteristics.

The 6- to 8-year-olds meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and 9- to 12-year-olds meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. A maximum of eight students are in each class, and pre-registration and payment is required to hold a spot. Each class is $10. For more information call 601-442-2901 or e-mail hjc@mdah.state.ms.us.
