You’re a celebrity, and you’re invited

You are invited to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society annual summer “fun”draiser.
This year, it is going to be a spectacular Celebrity Party fundraiser. That’s right…celebrity, and the celebrity is you. What makes you a celebrity, you ask? Anyone who helps support the orphans at NACHS is a celebrity to the hundreds of animals that pass through those doors each year.
This year, the event will be held July 14 at Lake St. John, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of Pat and Connie Burns, 5055 Louisiana 568, Ferriday, LA 71334. There will be a donation of $35 per person, payable at the door. Finger foods and a cash bar will be available. There also will be a candy and popcorn bar to satisfy your demanding, celebrity sweet tooth.
In keeping with the fun, we ask that you come dressed as your favorite celebrity. You will be walking the red carpet into the festivities and through the VIP entrance. Don’t let the paparazzi intimidate you, just smile for the cameras!
You will want to bring a little extra cash with you this year. There will be celebrity bartenders serving up their special drinks and entertainment to make sure their tip jar is stuffed to the max. The one with the largest amount of tips will win bragging rights for an entire year because all of the proceeds will go to the shelter. You will also have an opportunity to bid on an “All Access Pass” to the bar. The winner will have FREE DRINKS during the party!
We will also have a celebrity canine/feline photo pageant! A few of our orphans wanted in on the fun, so they have volunteered to dress as their favorite celebrities, and you get to vote for one — or more — of them with a cash donation. The winner will be featured in next month’s newsletter and again, all of the proceeds will go to the shelter.
A fun addition to the event this year will be an auction. Five celebrity swag boxes for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Picture and Best Hair/Makeup/Costume, will be up for grabs in a live auction.
The contents of the boxes will all be different and will include gifts and gift certificates from local businesses, such as One of a Kind, The Little Red Door, The Carriage House, Franklin Street Package Store, A Gallerie, “le perle” B&B, Rolling River Bistro, Nest, Sports Center, Beautiful You, The Flower Station, JaNel’s Flowers & Buttercup Bakery and more!
You don’t want to miss this event. It will be the party of the season. Remember, our orphans depend on us. All for the donations that make feeding, housing and caring for them possible, until their “forever family” comes along. So come on out July 14 and make a difference in the lives of our orphans.
