PORT GIBSON — Services for Roosevelt “Snake” Howard, 56, of Port Gibson, who died Friday, May 6, 2011, at River Regional Hospital in Vicksburg, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. John Ray Wyatt officiating.

Burial will follow at Forest Grove Christian Church in Pattison under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Howard was born Feb. 20, 1955, in Pattison, the son of Juanita Mallory and Otis Terry. He attended Port Gibson High School and was employed by Cooper Lighting.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Corena Smith Dorsey and two brothers, James Mallory Jr. and Eddie Lewis Mallory.

Survivors include his mother of Port Gibson; one son, James Earl Howard of Port Gibson; three grandchildren, Jacory Howard, James Howard Jr. and Jamesha Howard, all of Port Gibson; two sisters, Helen Mallory of Port Gibson and Ruby Mallory Derickson of Redford, Mich.; two aunts, Pearlie Mae Trannon of Palo Alto, Calif., and Pearl Walker of Chicago; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
