Man arrested on drug charges

NATCHEZ — A Jonesville man was arrested Tuesday after he was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine, prescription drugs and a set of brass knuckles, deputies said.
Uel Beard Jr., 32, came into contact with deputies from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group when the unit was investigating possible drug activity at 1 Cropp Lane.
In Beard’s possession were approximately 6 grams of methamphetamine packaged for resale, Suboxone, Adderall, digital scales and the brass knuckles, among other paraphernalia, ACSO reported.
Beard allegedly told deputies he was on parole in Concordia Parish for prior drug charges.
Deputies arrested Beard at the scene without incident and he was transported to the Adams County Jail on charges of possession of schedule II methamphetamines with intent to distribute, possession of schedule II Adderall, possession of schedule III Suboxone, convicted felon in possession of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He remained in the county jail without bond pending arraignment as of Tuesday evening.
