Thanks for the uplifting columns

I want to thank you so much for Kevin Cooper’s column in Sunday’s Democrat. I always read his columns and appreciate his outlook and comments.
I subscribed to Natchez the Magazine when we lived in Florida and enjoyed it so much. Any time I can read positive uplifting things about my hometown I love it.
My husband and I moved to Natchez in May a year ago. It has been an exciting time getting to know local people and to renew old acquaintances from my school days.
I grew up in Natchez but left after high school. After a hurricane intruded our home in Florida, where we had retired some 20 years ago. We decided it was time to get close to family. I have a sister and a niece living here. In order to be close to them, we chose to live downtown on Commerce Street. For me, downtown Natchez is a jewel that needs to be polished. As I tell friends, I came home to “get my roots watered,” and that’s what is happening for me.
Please continue to inspire those of us that love this town so and realize what a unique and special place we live in. As for me, I plan to do my part. We will do our best to spread the enthusiasm for this town, its people, its history and its future.
Sincerely,
Judy Mize
