NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Carl Kelly Jr., 88, of Kosciusko, formerly of Natchez, who died Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Kosciusko, will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Natchez National Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kelly was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Greenville, the son of Carl Davis Kelly and Margret Gordon Kelly.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1954. He was employed by International Harvester/Natchez Equipment Company for 44 years. He was a private pilot and a member of the Moose Lodge. He had a love for musical instruments, including the dobro and the steel guitar.
Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steve Kelly; two sisters, Doris Christine Lewis and Katie Mae Ashcraft; and one brother, Billy Ray Kelly.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Kelly Lawrence of Natchez; four grandchildren, Christopher Kelly, David Garrett McDaniel and Hailey Wroten, all of Natchez, and Erica McDaniel of New Orleans; two great- grandchildren, Catherine Kelly and Jeanne Kelly, both of Natchez; seven nieces; and 10 nephews.
Pallbearers will be Donald Lewis, Johnny Lewis, Austin Farmer, Chris Kelly, Garrett McDaniel and Bubba Wroten.
