NATCHEZ — Services for Freddie Jean Hutchins Singleton, 73, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Andrae Ramsey officiating.    

Burial will follow at Southwood Lodge Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Singleton was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Natchez, the daughter of Leon Hutchins and Edna Strauder Hutchins.

She was a 1963 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School.

Freddie Jean was retired from Natchez Steam Laundry after 50 years of service. She was a member of the True Bible Way Second Generation Apostolic Church where she served on the Mother’s Board. Freddie Jean enjoyed traveling, cruising, collecting bells, magnets and cooking. Her favorite flower was the sunflower.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy Hutchins; one brother, Milton Hutchins; and one sister, Sharon Diane Hutchins.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Keith Singleton; one son, Earl Williams Jr. and wife, Doris; six brothers, Jessie James White and wife, Alice, Leon Hutchins III, Claude Hutchins and wife, Edna, Rickey Nelson Hutchins and wife, Peggy, Frank Hutchins and wife, Betty, and Joseph M. Winding and wife, Tammy; three sisters, Mary Lee Jones and husband, Clarence, Eula M. Hutchins and Vora Hutchins; two godbrothers, Sonn Jones and Robert Madison; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
