FERRIDAY — Services for Edgar James Hebert, 87, of Ferriday, who died Monday, May 9, 2011, in Alexandria, La., will be at 2 p.m. today at Pentecostal of the Miss-Lou with the Rev. Gary Howington and the Rev. Jeremy Howington officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Hebert was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Houma, La., the son of Edgar Adam and Edna Hebert. He was an oilfield supervisor and a member of the Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou.
Mr. Hebert proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hebert; his parents; one sister, Betty LeCompt; and three brothers, Raymond, Lloyd and Reynard Hebert.
Survivors include one niece, Ilene Gill of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Melissa Myers of Ferriday; one nephew, Joseph Blakley of Ferriday; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Cory Myers, Jerry Myers, Jeremy Howington, Stephen “Bobo” Myers, Mickey King and Joe Blakley.
