FAYETTE — Services for Melvin Morris, 60, of Kansas City, Mo., who died Tuesday, May 15, 2018, in Kansas City, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.        

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Morris was born Nov. 15, 1957, in Natchez, the son of Albert “Dot” Henry and Julia Luccille Morris.

He was preceded in death by his father; three sisters, Debra A. Kelly, Jacqueline Kelly Thompson and Rhonda Kelly White; and six brothers, Tommy Kelly, Ronnie Henry, Melcon Henry, Lawrence Ray Henry, Roderick Henry and Gregory Henry.

Survivors include a loving and dedicated wife, Beverly DeLoney-Morris; one daughter, Jasmine M. Dorsey and husband, Lemuel; one stepdaughter, NyKesha D. Deloney; his mother and her husband, Robert King; three sisters, Janet Morris Gordley and husband, Willie, Leatha Mitchell and husband, Clarence, and Shirley Frazier and husband, Billy; eight brothers, Edgar “Pete” Kelly and wife, Santea, Robert Kelly and wife, Donna, Dolvin Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Kenneth Kelly, Albert Henry, Joey Henry and Lance Henry; one aunt, Mable A. Piper; one uncle, James “JC” Morris; five wonderful grandchildren, Da’Jiohn, Jarvon, Jordan, O’Shea and Kam’Ryn; brother from another mother, Myron Sanders and wife, Sherese; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and  friends.
