BOUTTE, La. (AP) — One person is dead and two people are critically injured after a helicopter crashed near New Orleans Sunday morning.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro says the Hughes 369 helicopter crashed about 10 miles southwest of New Orleans on Sunday morning. The names of those aboard the helicopter have not been released.
The two wounded people were brought to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. The third person was found dead “under debris several hours after the crash,” according to the release.
Molinary says the National Transportation Safety Board is on the scene investigating the crash.
