FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man tried to kill someone with a machete early Monday morning, police say.
Ferriday Police Chief Richard Madison said officers arrested Deshawn Milligan Sr. just before 3 a.m. Monday after he allegedly cut a man with a machete.
The victim showed a deep, bleeding wound on his left leg to officers and said Milligan told him, “I’m going to kill you.”
The incident happened, Madison said, near Seventh Street.
The victim told officers the dispute was concerning a 12-inch speaker.
Officers arrested Milligan, 38, 313 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Ferriday, on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
Milligan was in the Concordia Parish jail awaiting a bond as of Monday morning.
A Ferriday police spokesman said he wanted to thank the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office for assisting in capturing Milligan.
