FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Delcenia Harris, 75, who died on Wednesday May 2, 2018, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday with Pastor Danny T. Lewis officiating.

Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Rest Haven Cemetery on Old Gentilly Road in New Orleans under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the funeral home.

Ms. Harris, daughter of Joseph and Carrie Knox Harris, was born in Ferriday and died at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of New Morning Star Baptist and with her beautiful voice, she sang in the church choir.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joseph Harris.

Her survivors include one son, Christopher Harris of New Orleans; two aunts, Addie B. Phillips and Erma Skinner; one great-aunt, Leola Dixon all of Ferriday; her long time and devoted companion, Louis Edward; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
