NATCHEZ — A resident of 5 Garden St. was in her bedroom at 5 a.m. Saturday when an unknown suspect reportedly shot a bullet into her house, striking her leg.

Natchez Police Department investigator Lt. Craig Godbold said Saturday the middle-aged victim, Iris Green, nor neighbors saw any people or cars outside the house immediately following the incident.

A single shot was fired, which went through the window of the residence and reached Green in a bedroom near the back of the house, Godbold said.

Godbold said NPD is investigating the incident.
