On Saturday, the Miss Lou Chapter of the National Football Foundation will host the Granddaddy of all Natchez Golf Tournaments:  The Joe Fortunato – Allen Brown Golf Classic at the historic Duncan Park Golf Course. 

The classic has been held annually since the mid ’80s and is the primary fundraiser for the Miss Lou Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund, which awarded $11,000 this year to local scholar athletes from Natchez, Ferriday and Vidalia. 

This year’s tournament is set for Saturday.  Tee times are 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. with shotgun start. 

We encourage everyone to come out and support this great cause as 100 percent of the proceeds after expenses go to the scholarship fund.

Lunch will be provided for player and spouse from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The Joe Fortunato — Allen Brown Golf Classic is known for its gourmet lunches prepared by our excellent Cook Team led by Allen Brown. 

Along with the great food and beverages, our event atmosphere is deep-rooted with laughter and smiles.  It is just a really good time and if you have never eaten Allen’s barbecue beans, then you need to come on out: they are worth the trip. There will be an awards party after play at the Duncan Park Club.

Non-golfers have an opportunity to join the prize giveaway by purchasing tickets for the ball drop for a chance to win $1,000.  For golfers, the #2 Hole Shootout gives two golfers a chance to win a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado valued at $40,000.

In addition, there also will be prizes for each flight, ditty bags for each golfer, door prizes and raffle prizes, closest to the hole prize, and longest drive awards for both the morning and afternoon flights. 

The Hole in One prizes are sponsored by our awesome supporters at Great River Chevrolet-GMC and golfers have a chance to win a swing caddie SC200 portable launch monitor on #6 hole, a 2018 GMC Terrain valued at $33,000 on #9 hole, a vacation for 4 at Lajitas Golf Resort & SPA on #13 hole, and $500 Callaway Golf Shopping Spree on #15 hole.
