Vidalia — At least one suspect has been charged in connection to a string of firearm burglaries in the Miss-Lou last week.

17-year-old Anthony D. Williams was arrested late Sunday by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office and faces a charge of aggravated burglary in connection to incidences of stolen weapons early Friday morning at Old River Guns in Ridgecrest and Natchez Pawn Shop, as well as another burglary late Saturday at Sports Center in Natchez, in which several firearms were stolen.

Two other suspects arrested Sunday in Wilkinson County — 19-year-old Kelandrix Lushaw and 20-year-old Shawnveon Holiday — also have warrants out for their arrest in Concordia Parish, CPSO Chief Deputy David Hedrick said.

A joint investigation between multiple agencies, including CPSO, the Natchez Police Department, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office has been ongoing since shortly after the incidents took place.

“This is a perfect example of how our detectives working in conjunction with Natchez PD and Adams County (Sheriff’s Office) and Wilkinson County (Sheriff’s Department), coming together to solve crimes that occurred both in Louisiana and Mississippi,” Hedrick said.

CPSO has recovered some stolen weapons, Hedrick said, though he would not disclose a specific number. The suspects named by Hedrick were the only suspects for which the sheriff’s office had warrants for in connection to the burglaries as of Monday afternoon, though Hedrick said other arrests are possible.

On the other side of the river, Natchez Police Chief Walter Armstrong said his department has yet to make any arrests in the case, though investigators have made headway in the case.

“We dealt with it all into the night (Sunday) night,” Armstrong said.

While Armstrong said Natchez police also have recovered some weapons, the chief said he would likely be prepared to release more information today. The chief said he could not go into particulars about the suspects involved in the case, though he acknowledged that other agencies had detained persons of interest and that the three burglaries likely were connected.

Natchez police also had been working to tie up an investigation involving the early Sunday-morning shooting death of Luquitia Owens at Club Rockefeller. Since an arrest has been made in the case, Armstrong said police should be able to fully focus on the burglaries.

“We got the murder case wrapped up, now we’ve still got some work to do on the burglaries,” Armstrong said.
