VIDALIA — Services for Roy Gene Cupit, 86, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, April 28, 2018, in Vidalia, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vidalia First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Webber and the Rev. Jamie Little officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Cupit was born Aug. 25, 1931, in Franklin County, the son of Felix Leo Cupit Sr. and Eddice Tillotson Cupit.
Mr. Cupit proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Felix Leo Cupit Jr.; two sisters, Marie Griffin and Joy Dale Cupit; two daughters-in-law, Sarah Arthur and Joyce Chandler Cupit; two grandsons, Michael Shane Cupit and Joseph Wayne Cupit; one granddaughter, Susan Jean Cupit; and one great-granddaughter, Sonya Snyder.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Esteen Nettles Cupit; four sons, Dicky Wayne Cupit and wife, Sue, of Bastrop, La., Roy Glenn Cupit and wife, Dora, of Baskin, La., Richard Anthony Cupit of Natchez, and Dennis Keith Cupit and wife, Lesa, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; one daughter, Bernadette Barfield and husband, Rick, of Vidalia; 16 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Ames, Claire Shields, Whest Shirley, Tim Welch, Nolan Crothen and Bowen Strahan.
