VIDALIA — Sheriff’s deputies pulled up to a car that had run off the road Thursday night expecting an accident of some sort, but instead found drugs, drug paraphernalia and a half-full Mason jar of moonshine.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Chief Deputy David Hedrick said deputies responded to a single-car crash report at approximately 9:40 p.m. Thursday and found Laci Fitt, 32, 256 Janice Lane, Ferriday, slumped over in the front seat of the car.

Deputies began knocking on the window of the car to wake the woman up, as she appeared to be asleep.

Fitt allegedly woke up, saw the deputies and attempted to drive away before deputies stopped her again.

Inside the car, deputies found a container with several pills inside, two small bags containing various narcotics, moonshine in a Mason jar, scales, a pipe, and a few pieces of meth in a tin case.

Deputies arrested Fitt on charges of driving under suspension, open container in a motor vehicle, careless operation of a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule II drug, possession of a schedule III drug and two charges of possession of a schedule IV drug.

Fitt was still in the Concordia Parish Jail late Friday with no bond set.
