MEADVILLE — Eighteen months after a Franklin County bank robbery and 16 months after the first arrest in the case, two more Natchez men have been charged with the crime.
Tyrone Butler, 48B Forest St., Natchez, and Eric Foster, 34, 333B Dumas Drive, Natchez, were both charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, Franklin County Sheriff James Newman said. Butler was arrested Tuesday, Foster on Wednesday. Both men appeared in justice court Thursday and were given a $200,000 bond.
The men, along with Donald J. Wilson, 278 Cranfield Road, Natchez, allegedly coordinated the entry of the Bank of Franklin the afternoon of Dec. 2, 2009; two of the men jumped the counter and overtook two tellers, leaving with an undisclosed amount of money, while the third drove the getaway car.
The initial arrest of Wilson in the crime was made in Jan. 2010. In September 2010, he was convicted and sentenced to serve 40 years in jail.
Newman would not confirm that the case is closed.
