MEADVILLE — Services for Glenn Twiner, 70, who died Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, with his loving family by his side, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with the Rev. Tony Mullins and the Rev. Eric Moak officiating.

Burial will follow at the Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and resume Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Twiner was born Nov. 11, 1947, in Brookhaven, the son of Albert Twiner and Hughlyne Mitchell Twiner.

Glenn retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company where he was employed for a number of years as a bias cutter. He was a dedicated sports fan. He loved his Ole Miss Rebel football and would travel to Oxford on many occasions to see them play.

Glenn also faithfully supported Franklin County High School sports programs. He faithfully attended the school’s football, basketball and many baseball games with his group of “Grumpy Old Men.”

Glenn was known as a quiet, compassionate and loving man who loved to talk about his children and grandchildren. His family was his life. He loved them very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Clem and Annie Twiner; and maternal grandparents, Stanton and Maude Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Bonnie Twiner; three daughters, Tammy Hastings and husband, Fred, and Sherry Tanner and fiancé, Dusty Rollinson, all of Meadville, and Misty Twiner and Bryan Adair, of Vidalia; one son, Joe Twiner and wife, Courtney, of Vidalia; six grandchildren, Hillary Twiner, Morgan Rouse, Brody Tanner, Aubrey Claire Housley, Eli Twiner and Molly Kate Twiner; one great-granddaughter, Rowen Rouse; and a number of other family and friends.

The family requests memorials be made in Glenn’s name to Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery, 11594 Union Church Road, Meadville, MS 39653.
