NATCHEZ — Services for Artiemese “Tiny” Harris Frye, 68, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 3, 2018, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Daughters of Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanford Cruel officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Artiemese was born on Jan. 12, 1950, in Natchez, the daughter of Horace Harris Sr. and Alma Randall Harris.
She was a 1969 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. Artiemese was a retired sitter and cook. She was a member of the Daughters of Zion Baptist Church, where she served in the Women’s Ministry. Her hobbies include fishing, sewing and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.C. Lyles; and one son Melvin O. Harris.
Survivors include one son, Nathaniel Lyles; three daughters, Vanessa James and husband, Frank, Jaquela Lyles and Vaneika Frye; stepmother, Ollie Mae Brady; five brothers, Horace Harris III, Melvin Harris, Gregory Gaylor, Robert Madison and Patrick Madison; two sisters, Pearl Groom and Princess Morgan; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
