NATCHEZ — Funeral services for George Scott, 56, of Sicily Island, who died Friday, April 6, 2018 at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Martin, the Rev. Evan McMurray and the Rev. Albert Coates officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of service, both at the funeral home.

Mr. Scott was born Oct. 4, 1961 in Leakesville, the son of Clyde Scott and Jewel Juanita Martin Scott.

He was known as the “Donut Man.”

If you ever met him, you never forgot him as he never forgot you.

He loved to talk to his many friends and family.

He never got in a hurry and was never on time for things in life’s busy schedules.

He spoke from the heart and was wise in many ways.

He loved going to church and had become very close to his Savior.

He kept the faith for his healing to the very end.

Each person he met was special to him and was considered a chance to introduce Jesus to them.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ed Scott, Bobby Scott, Sr., Jimmy Dell Scott, Tommie Glen Scott and Clyde Edward Scott.

Survivors include his wife: Mary Maples Tyson Scott of Sicily Island; four children: Heather Bramlett Strahan of Jackson, Monya Young and her partner, Michael Brown of Roxie, Jason Tyson and wife, Stephanie, of Ferriday, and Olivia Smith and husband, Bobby Smith III of Ferriday; grandchildren: Carla Tyson, Madison Tyson, Jordan Sanders, Bryan Russ, Shelby Sanders, Koen Tyson, Michaela Brown, Lauren Smith, Haylen Strahan and Presley Strahan; two brothers: Robert Scott of Port Lavaca, Texas, and Wayne Scott, Sr. of Natchez; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Guice, Billy Calcote, John Sanders, Charlie Stevens, Robbie Renard and Austin Scott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Freeman, Jerry Wooten, Jordan Sanders, Koen Tyson, Gabriel Bass, Jason Tyson, Bobby Smith III, Emmett Scott, Barry Scott, Bubba Scott, Joey Scott, Charlie Thibodeaux, T. J. Bailey, and Blake Scott.
