Christmas in April will be April 28 this year and the national day is set aside for volunteers to help disabled people, veterans and senior citizens, with projects around their houses.
Seeds of Change Resource Foundation is coordinating a local effort in Natchez to work on April 28.
“Last year we did 10 homes,” said Carolyn Myers, Ph.D, CEO and president of Seeds of Change. “This year we’re looking for 15 homes.”
Myer is asking people to contact her with prospects who could benefit from the volunteer effort to help them with mowing lawns, edging, hedge trimming, shrub trimming and general yard cleaning.
The group also is looking for volunteers she said.
The deadline is end of the day April 25 to submit a request for the group to clean up around the lawn for a senior citizen, disabled person or veteran on Christmas in April.
To nominate people who could benefit from the work, contact the organization at 601-870-6343.
