NATCHEZ — One of the four wanted men from a Monday drug roundup in Adams County was caught in a traffic stop Wednesday.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies placed Carlos Roricus Smith, 32, 477 Lower Woodville Road, on its most wanted list in connection with various alleged drug crimes in the county.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said Smith was caught when a deputy saw him on the frontage road near Tracetown Shopping Center.

Smith was traveling, sheriff’s officials said, in a vehicle recognizable to police, and the deputy pulled him over and arrested upon identification.

Smith was one of four people wanted after a drug bust Monday resulted in the arrest of 12 people in Adams and Franklin counties.

The arrests, sheriff’s officials said, came after complaints about drug activity at Martin Luther King Jr. and St. Catherine streets. Sheriff’s deputies are still searching for Roderick Brady, Marcus McDonald and Venita Felter Mulvhill.

Deputies charged Smith with possession of a controlled substance. No bond had been set late Wednesday.
