VIDALIA — Services for Amy Patricia “Patsy” Davis, 76, of Vidalia, who died Friday, March 16, 2018, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Vidalia First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Ganey and the Rev. Dr. Ralph Webber officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Vidalia chapel.
Mrs. Davis was born Oct. 28, 1941, in Shreveport, La., the daughter of Edmond Haywood Stevens and Nina Winters Stevens.
She was a member of Vidalia Baptist Church. She worked as her husband’s secretary and his right arm for more than 20 years. Everyone loved and knew her as Ms. Patsy. Her fondest memories were of her son’s racing motocross days. She loved cooking and was very talented with ceramics.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Martha Elliot and Yvonne Bufkin.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Hoss Davis; one daughter, Amy Davis of Monroe, La.; one son, Haywood Davis and wife, Yolanda, of Sulfur, La.; two granddaughters, Conner Davis of Houston and Reneé Schakron of New York; one grandson, Daniel Schakron of Belize; one great-granddaughter, Cataleya Schakron of Belize; one sister, Bobby Jean Andrews of Shreveport; and two special friends, Doris Watson and Melba Duncan.
Pallbearers will be Woody Alexander, Ron Routon, Jerry Paul Ogden, Keith Darnell, Darrell “Bubba” Crawford and Doug Aarons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Vanier, Jim Moore, Junior Harris, Brady Garner and Charlie Blaney.
