LAKE ST. JOHN — Services for Billy Ray Whitley, 62, of Lake St. John, in the Ferriday area, who died Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Baptist Church on Lake St. John.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Whitley was born Nov. 18, 1955, in Ferriday, the son of Alfred and Onneal Mays Whitley.

He served as a deacon at St. Matthews Baptist Church and was a retired school bus driver for Concordia Parish School System.

Mr. Whitley was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Willie Whitley, Earnest Whitley, Joseph Whitley and Nancy Whitley.

Survivors include three children, Jacqueline Whitley and William Whitley and wife, Shakieta, all of Ferriday, and Joshua Whitley and wife, Iesha, of Lake Charles, La.; two brothers, Al Whitley and Roosevelt Whitley; three sisters, Rosemary Flagg, Francis McKeel and Thelma Albi; four grandchildren; the mother of his children, Jackie Nell Williams of Ferriday; and a special niece and nephew, Donneal and Jimmy Whitley.
