NATCHEZ — Yvonne Bethcelia Lanehart Benoit, 77, died
Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, in Winnsboro, Texas, surrounded by her loving family as she entered into her eternal resting place with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A private burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery.
A celebration of her life will follow the services at a private home.
Mrs. Benoit was born in Natchez and was a 1958 graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez.
She was a faithful secretarial clerk for a number of companies throughout West Texas until she retired.
On Nov. 24, 1971, she married Joseph Carrel Benoit and served as a devoted wife for 46 years of marriage.
Beth belonged to and held office in a number of social organizations during her lifetime. Her passion for
the Catholic church led her to volunteer her services to both the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Ladies
Altar and Rosary Society in Odessa, Texas, and the Ladies Rosary Group at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Holly Lake, Texas. She was extremely talented in her ability to sew, tailor, and make alterations to clothing, as well as her creativeness in a number of different arts and crafts.
Beth will long be remembered for her contagious laughter and her energetic spirit.
She was preceded in death by her father, Otis A. Lanehart Jr.; her mother, Yvonne Delores Black Lanehart; and one brother, Otis A. Lanehart III.
Survivors include four children, Donald Roberts, Karen Roberts Haynes, Rebecca Benoit Smith and Daniel Benoit; three siblings, Andree Chalupnik, Al Lanehart and Delores Spinks; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Yvonne Bethcelia Benoit to Catholic Charities Diocese of Natchez, Miss.
