FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Harvey Ward Moreland Jr., 89, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, in McComb, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Burial will follow at the family Magnolia Cemetery, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Moreland was born on April 19, 1928 in Natchez, the son of Harvey Sr. and Numa Moreland. He was a resident of Monterey and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Moreland worked for Exxon for 32 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was selfless to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Cheryl Ann.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ruth Good Moreland; one son, Thomas W. Moreland Sr. and wife, Margaret Ann; one daughter, Maxilynn Moreland Guinn; four grandchildren, Amanda Beth

McIntosh and husband, Coy, Randilynn Lea DeVoe, Holly Yvonne Nipps and Thomas W. Moreland Jr.;

five great-grandchildren, Cale McIntosh, Miller Beth McIntosh, Jonathan Taylor-Ward DeVoe, JayCee
