NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Dorothy McPhate Thomae, 89, of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dillon Wickliffe officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thomae was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Columbus Vaughn McPhate and Arie Dorsey McPhate.

She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending International Paper Company Quarter Century Club Fish Fries.

Mrs. Thomae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, R.W. Thomae; one brother, Dennis H. McPhate; and three sisters, Hazel Halford, Louise Sullivan and Charlene Miller.

Survivors include one daughter, Lauren Rayborn and husband, Gary, of Natchez; three grandsons of whom she was so very proud, Garret Rayborn and wife, Amber, Ross Rayborn and Jake Rayborn, all of Natchez; and two great-granddaughters who she adored, Brooklyn Rivers Rayborn and Blakely Kate Rayborn.

The family thanks Dr. Charles Borum, Ann Parker with Compassus Hospice Services and Personal Homecare Services, particularly Kayla Leavines, for the loving care and kindness provided during the recent weeks.
