Three Trinity Episcopal football players will be traveling this weekend to attend elite training camps.
DeSanto Rollins and Jakarius Caston will travel to Houston for Nike Football’s The Opening Regionals on Sunday.
This is the 22nd year Nike has held the regional training where athletes are fitted for gear, receive skill-based position training, participate in position competitions and will work with a multitude of other athletes.
Players will be tested on skills such as 40-yard dash, vertical jump and a power ball toss. The camp is well attended, including by all of the major national recruiting websites.
Notable alumni of Nike Football’s The Opening Regionals include Alvin Kamara and Cameron Jordan of the New Orleans Saints and Leonard Fornette of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In order to be eligible for the camp a coach must recommend the player, and Rollins and Caston would like to thank Trinity coach Mo Rodriguez.
In addition, Trinity’s Sterling Yarbrough will attend the Rivals Camps Series by Adidas on Saturday in Mobile, Ala.
While there, Yarbrough will record times in key football tests such as 40-yard dash, shuttle run, vertical jump and broad jumps.
The camp offers the opportunity to be invited to the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp the following day in the same city depending on performance.
