NATCHEZ — Services for Hattie Faye Smith, 60, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Washington with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Smith was born June 27, 1957, in Natchez, the daughter of John Henry Ferguson and Hattie Floyd Ferguson.

Following her graduation from college, Hattie began a career in nursing. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to gospel and blues music, singing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Harriet Saunders; and four brothers, Charles Jackson, Henry Ferguson, Percy Ferguson and David Ferguson.

Survivors include one son, George A. Smith III; two sisters, Betty Ferguson and Delores Richardson and husband, Pete; two grandchildren, Zayden Smith and Kaylee Smith; and a number of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
