NATCHEZ — An Adams County woman was arrested Monday and charged with accessory after the fact in connection to her husband’s alleged statutory rape of a girl reportedly under the age of 10.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Christina J. Mirra, 33, after investigators determined she withheld information pertaining to the case, ACSO Chief Deputy Jerry Brown said.
“After interviewing the child, we determined that there was enough to charge the wife as well,” Brown said.
He would not elaborate on what information Christina Mirra withheld from investigators.
Mirra’s husband, David Carrol Mirra, 40, was charged last week and charged with statutory rape. Investigators believe the crime occurred while the young girl was staying with relatives during the Thanksgiving holiday, and Brown previously reported that investigators believe alcohol played a role in the incident.
David Mirra was being held at the Adams County Jail with a bond listed at $100,000 as of Monday evening. Christina Mirra’s was also being held at the county jail, but without bond pending arraignment.
