Trinity boys, WCCA girls win district championship

The Trinity Episcopal School Saints won the MAIS District 4-A Championship Saturday afternoon with an 87-63 win over Wilkinson county Christian Academy at Rebul Academy.
The Saints (13-5) had four players end in double digits, led by DeSanto Rollins with 28 points. Dee Fleming added 19, Jakarius Caston ended with 13 and Cedric Daniels had 12 points of his own in the win.
D’Mario Weathersby led WCCA with 26 points.
Trinity will be the No. 1 seed from District 4, while WCCA will also advance as the No. 2 seed in this week’s MAIS Class A South State Tournament.
WCCA (girls) 44, Trinity 9
The Wilkinson County Christian Academy Lady Rams notched their district title win over the Lady Saints Saturday, 44-9.
Sydney Bryant ended with a game-high 22 points to lead WCCA to victory.
Cate Drane scored five points to lead Trinity.
WCCA will enter as the No. 1 seed from District 4, while Trinity (7-11) will be placed as the No. 2 seed in this week’s MAIS Class A South State Tournament.
