NATCHEZ — Services for Billy Lane Nichols, 64, of Natchez, who died Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe W. Pickett officiating.   

Burial will follow at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will follow from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Billy was born Dec. 4, 1953, in Natchez, the son of Earl Nichols and Viola Lyles Nichols.

After graduating from high school, he attended college.

He was employed by Wilson-Holder Drug Store for 47 years as a pharmacy technician. He was also a master of flooring and restoration. He was a faithful member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries. He loved hunting and fishing, watching sports, spending time with his children and above all, his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Daisy Lee Lyles; and one brother, Lonnie Earl Nichols Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Nichols; one son, Marshall Rouser and wife, Monica; five daughters, Demetris Montgomery, Nicole Philpot and husband, Craig, Nekeisha Smith and husband, Lawrence Smith Sr., Detra Rouser, and Treneissia Blanton and husband, Marcus; one sister, Evelyn Fort and husband, Willie James; 10 grandchildren, Marneria, Craig Jr., Dé Ja, David V., Lawrence Jr., Daylin, Trinidy, Makenzie, Mariah and Pryce; mother-in-law, Bessie Prater; five brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and other friends and relatives.
