Mr. and Mrs. Boatner Alston Blankenstein announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Katherine Rutland Blankenstein to Calder Brendan Cleary, son of Drs. John and Carla Cleary, all of Brandon.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Northwest Rankin High School and Mississippi State University earning a degree in communications and public relations. She is employed by Mississippi Magazine in Jackson as advertising art director.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lavon Hathorn of Bassfield and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Rawdon Blankenstein Jr. of Natchez.

The groom-to-be is also a graduate of Northwest Rankin High School and Mississippi State University earning a degree in business information systems.

He is the grandson of Ms. Marlene Koppes and Mr. Merlin Koppes, both of Cascade, Iowa, and Mrs. Beverly McEntire of Kansas City, Mo., and the late Mr. John Dale Cleary Sr.

The wedding will be Saturday, March 17, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church in Natchez with its pastor, the Rev. Joan Gandy and the Rev. Seth Duhs, pastor of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, officiating.
