Vidalia — A man was reportedly shot in Concordia Parish late Thursday night.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigator John Cowan said a man on Ralph’s Road sustained a single gunshot wound Thursday night.

The suspected shooter fled in a vehicle toward Vidalia, where Cowan said deputies were “actively searching” for him.

Cowan said the victim was in critical condition at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Investigator Phillip Webber said the sheriff’s office would release no more information about the incident.
