NATCHEZ — A Natchez man currently being held on murder charges from an October shooting was charged in connection with a May murder Wednesday.

Kiandas Washington, 19, was being held in the Adams County Jail when a forensic report connected his firearm to the gun allegedly used to shoot Kelvin Devon Sadler on May 16.

The 32-year-old Sadler was shot to death by an apparent intruder while sleeping in his bedroom on Southmoor Drive.

Sadler was found by his mother, officers said at the time.

Reports at the time said Sadler was shot multiple times, including once in his head.

On May 21, Washington was arrested in Ferriday while carrying a firearm. The firearm was confiscated at the time, but ASCO Chief Deputy Jerry Brown said the sheriff’s office only received the ballistic reports connecting the gun to Sadler’s murder on Wednesday.

Washington was arrested on Oct. 18 in connection with a shooting spree across Natchez on Oct. 1, which led to the death of one man and allegedly involved more than 130 shots being fired randomly throughout town.

Washington’s bond for the Oct. 1 shooting was set at $3 million, which he has not posted.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office investigators charged Washington with the murder Wednesday.

A bond has not yet been set.

At this time, Washington is being charged with one count of murder from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, and one charge of murder, four charges of aggravated assault and a charge of possession of a stolen firearm with the Natchez Police Department.
