CATAHOULA PARISH, La. — A son’s alleged murder of his father ended with a lengthy pursuit involving several different law enforcement agencies leading up to the man’s capture Sunday night in Catahoula Parish.

The Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office charged Bradley Dosher with second-degree murder for the alleged Sunday afternoon slaying of his father, Charles Dosher.

After investigating the alleged murder, the sheriff’s office received a tip that Bradley Dosher might be in the Manifest area, Catahoula Parish Sheriff Toney Edwards said in a statement.

Edwards along with detectives Amy Franklin and Kelvin McKay searched the area unsuccessfully, but reportedly encountered the suspect when he turned onto Louisiana 8 heading toward Manifest.

“At that time, the pursuit began,” Edwards said.

Bradley Dosher then made a u-turn, prompting Edwards to call for backup while officers chased Dosher into the area’s hills.

After multiple twists and turns, the suspect reportedly turned off a main road and his vehicle became stuck, leading him to flee on foot.

Edwards said Bradley Dosher finally surrendered without incident after hiding behind a residence in the area of Owen Road, with members of the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Louisiana State Police and Harrisonburg, Sicily Island and Jonesville police departments all on scene by this time.

In addition to the second-degree murder charge, Bradley Dosher received charges of aggravated flight from officers and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

The sheriff’s office is not releasing details pertaining to alleged the murder itself at this time.
