GLOSTER — Services for Velma Eliza Spillman of Woodville, who died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Barnes officiating.

Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery in Gloster under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Friday, both at the funeral home.

Ms. Spillman was born in Franklin County, the daughter of Robert Spillman and Mary Mattie Sterling Spillman.

She was a longtime resident of Woodville.

Ms. Spillman was an active member of Macedonia United Methodist Church in Woodville. She was the owner and operator of Velma’s Dress Shop in Woodville for a number of years. Velma was loved by many and will be missed by all her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Jewell Spillman, Otis Spillman, Robert Spillman Jr., Delmar Spillman, J.W. Spillman and Joe Spillman; and two sisters, Inez Spillman Rider and Ora Spillman Varnado.

Survivors include one brother, Frank Spillman and wife, Sybell, of Fayette; three sisters, Mildred Williams and Frances Jones, both of Liberty, and Johnnie Jones of Zachary, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
