NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a county man Thursday after allegedly finding various drugs and a loaded handgun in his possession during a narcotics raid.
The office’s special operations group reported executing a narcotics search warrant early Thursday morning at the residence of convicted felon Bradley Welch, 31, 15 Pecan Drive.
While searching Welch’s bedroom, deputies reportedly found a plethora of drugs, including 21 grams of ice methamphetamine, non-prescribed schedule II Vyvanse and schedule II Ritalin pills, and 3 grams of marijuana. Deputies also found a loaded Chiappa .22-caliber handgun, $460 in cash, digital scales and packaging materials, the sheriff’s office reported.
Welch is currently on probation in Concordia Parish for prior drug and weapons charges, and he admitted to being in possession of the weapon, deputies said.
As of Thursday evening, Welch was being held at the Adams County Jail without bond.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the sheriff’s office reported that more charges would be presented to a grand jury.
