James Davis Nettles

CROSBY — Services for James Davis Nettles, 73, of Crosby, who died Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spirit Life Church, 605 Sterling St. in Gloster, with the Rev. Jackie Moulder officiating.
Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Nettles was born July 30, 1944, the son of Charles M Nettles and Ina M. Robertson Nettles.
James worked as a dredgeboat operator for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John Nettles, B.J. Nettles, Virgil Nettles and Charles Nettles Jr.; and three sisters, Mildred Simpson, Agnes Townsend, and Gloria Jean McElwee.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty Griffin Nettles; two sons, Bobby Nettles and Jamie Nettles; one daughter Patricia Nettles Fourrier; five grandchildren, Hollie Quebedeaux, Adam Fourrier, Kali Nettles, Dakotah Nettles and Daltyn Nettles; and three greatgrandchildren Lyla Quebedeaux, Elijah Quebedeaux, and Aiden Fourrier.
